The first autonomous plunger steering gear of CSSC Luzhou successfully passed the sea trial.

On April 24, the RD900-4 plunger steering gear independently developed and designed by Nanjing CSSC Luzhou successfully passed the sea trial in the sea area of Zhoushan. The sea trial of the steering gear was a complete success.

This type of plunger-type steering gear is the first new product independently developed by CSSC LUZHOU for the first time. It is equipped on the 64,000-ton bulk carrier Dingxin 103 and Juhe Pudu of Wuhu Shipyard Co., Ltd. The steering gear is composed of a double plunger four-cylinder steering mechanism, a reversible hydraulic system, a shunt cooling system, an automatic lubrication system, and an electric proportional automatic steering control. CSSC LUZHOU has devoted itself to research, applied a number of innovative designs and new materials, obtained 3 patents, and passed CCS type approval.

During the sea trial, CSSC LUZHOU sent the project R&D elite to fully perform the steering test, Z-type operation, autopilot steering, main and emergency electric steering, rudder stability test, manual emergency steering, etc. at the full speed of the ship. The test results show that the maneuverability, reliability, and ability to control the course of the ship, etc., all meet the technical requirements.
